WiFi had its roots in professional computer networks. In many offices and workplaces, to connect to a server required miles of network cables and multiple architects and designers simply to place the right people in proximity to that office’s servers. What began to develop was the use of broadcasting a connection through radio waves as a local area network (LAN). At first used only to keep computers connected to one another, it soon was realized that it was also useful in keeping an Internet connection amongst all workers. This idea was quickly adapted for commercial uses and it is now possible to set up a wireless connection in your own house.
